About me and what I do

Hi! My name is Gabbie and I am primarily a tattoo artist based in Scotland. I also work with a variety of other media though and you can find me endlessly sketching any spare moment I get.

I live in a country house in a small Scottish village near Glasgow with my little family and pets.

I love all things whimsical and weird. My aesthetic artistically and in life is often inspired by medieval and fantasy influences. Reading books is my second favorite thing to do in my spare time after drawing and what I read often heavily influences whatever weird thing I get obsessed with drawing at the time. I also work part time at Mortez tattoo studio in Larkhall.

My style can be described as neo traditional/illustrative and while I mostly work in colour I’m very comfortable tattooing in black and gray also. I also am happy to tattoo dotwork, geometric, watercolour, traditional, Japanese and many other styles, don’t hesitate to ask.

I create illustrations for different projects all the time, mostly on paper using a mix of colour pencils and either watercolour or markers, but I also do linocuts, oil paintings, acrylic and am always happy to explore new media and techniques.

Don’t hesitate to ask about any custom work or any existing artwork I have for sale.

Crocheting is what I would consider my hobby when I’m not drawing or tattooing. While I don’t currently take on any custom requests, I occasionally put up unique handmade pieces up for sale.

I’m going to be honest with you. This is perhaps my least favorite media, but I do find the ease of digital extremely useful, especially in my tattoo work, where I often have to edit designs last minute, resize or even completely start over. I often create designs for merch, such as stickers, t-shirts, mugs etc digitally as well. I do yearn for the tactile feeling of paper or canvas under my fingers most and I think in this age of generative AI “art” (ew…) it’s even more appreciated. This is in no way a dig at digital artists, many of whom are infinitely better at it than me, but a personal preference.

When it comes to 3D, I will level with you too. I have done it in University and I am happy I have acquired that skill but I have no desire to tend to it ever again. Similar reason as listed above, but with even more technical aspects to it which, while some really seem to enjoy, I never really cared for.
